Alcala Yearbook 1993-1994

MACS The MathematiGs and Computer Science (MACS) Club membership consists ofstudents with an interest in computers and/or math. The club focuses on socially networing its membership to both inside and outside the University of San Diego. Throughout the year, they have sponsor ed expert speakers on topics such as fractals, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and the job market. In the past, members have at– tended and spoken at academic conferences , including the MAA. The club also organized trips to such places as the IMAX Theatre in Balboa Park, the San Diego Supercomputer Centre, and to other local industries. Participation in the MACS Club rounds out the math and computer science experience at USD.

UNDERGRADUATE NURSING ASSOCIATION The Undergraduate Nursing Association (UNA) provides students with a vehicle for information, education, representation, and support while fostering communication be– tween registered nurse students and faculty. The association promotes health awareness and social interaction for students, faculty, and guest.
