The four KPIs that I identified are complete business evaluations, financial model accuracy, data credibility, and project timeline adherence. The targets listed were based on what I assumed to be reasonable targets given the information under each module assignment. Ultimately I was able to achieve three of four KPIs. The KPI in which I failed was the data credibility. The data, although still credible, was a fail because the information was all public information that was not specific enough to the select business within las vegas in certain parts of town. I am hoping to improve on this aspect if I elect to conduct another large scale analysis like this in the future. The overall outcome of this capstone project is as follows, I successfully combined business analysis, financial modeling, and decision making frameworks to evaluate three business opportunities in Las Vegas. I used the SWOT and decision tree framework as well as the ADKAR change management model, and feedback from the instructor, my peers, my mentor, and myself.. I believe that I had met my performance goals in this project based on the status of the KPIs that I had identified, the feedback I had received, and the results from my submissions on canvas. The Pilates studio was ultimately selected as the best business opportunity based on the outcomes from the different models and the long term growth potential, reliable revenue from loyal customers, and alignment with the upward trending of health and wellness in Las Vegas. There were several lessons learned and areas for improvement discussed further in the next section. However, to give a brief introduction to the lessons learned here the biggest lesson in this venture is that to evaluate a local business in full you need specific information on the business’s actual performance.
