LIN ADAMS, Head Coach

Fifth Season

Lin Adams is in her fifth season at the helm of the USD softball program after taking over head coaching duties on Aug. 25, 1993. Adams guided last year's team to a 27-31 record and a third place finish in the Western Intercollegiate Softball League tournament. In her four year tenure, Adams has led the Toreros to two 25-win seasons and last year's 27 wins was the highest total in Adams' career at USD.

Adams' coaching career spans all three NCAA Divisions (I, II, III). She owns a career record of 190-201-1 with previous stints at Chico State and UC San Diego. Adams earned

1990 Coach of the Year honors in the Northern Califor- nia Athletic Conference for Chico State. She inherited an 8-48 Wildcats team and generated 19 victories the fol– lowing season. Adams' also was co-head coach at UC San Diego for two years leading the Tritons to a 67-19-1 record, two consecutive NCAA tournament appearances and a No. 2 ranking in Division III. The San Antonio, Texas native obtained her bachelor's (1980) and master's degrees from Chico State. She a lso holds a doctorate in Educational Administration from th e Univer sity of Texas.

JENNIFER MILO, Assistant Coach

First Season

J ennifer Milo enters her fifth year with the USD Softball program, but first year as a coach. Milo graduated last year from USD as the best player ever to play at the university. Milo played in every inning and started in every game throughout her four year career and was honored by the softball team at the end oflast season by having her #44 r etired. Milo had a career batting average of .354 and led the team in batting in three out of her four years. Milo batted .402 during her senior season and also led the team in hits with 70, RBIs with 40, doubles with seven and total bases with 81. She was named to the WISL All Tourney team during her senior and sophomore years.

BILL CORBETT Assistant Coach 2nd Season

STEVE COLLO Assistant Coach 1st Season

Bill Corbett is in his second sea– son with the Torero softball program as the pitching coach. Corbett spent 13 years coaching local travel teams and working with individuals in San Diego County. Eleven of his stu– dents have been named CIF Player of the Year and 23 have been recipi– ents of student-athlete softball scholarships to colleges and universities t hroughout the United States. Corbett also played fastpitch softball for 17 years. Corbett graduated from Amherst College in 1960. He served as a Intelligence Specialist in the U.S. Army for four years in South Ko– rea. Currently, Corbett is t he Chief Litigation Investigator for the City of San Diego and has held that position for 24 years.

Steve Callo is in his first season with the Torero softball program. Callo was an Assistant Coach at La Costa Canyon High for two years as well as serving a two-year stint at San Dieguito High. He has also coached Under 18 and Under 16 club softball teams in the area. Callo is a former fastpitch softball

player, playing on various club teams in the Los Angeles and Or– ange County areas for twenty years. He also played at Cerritos Col– lege where he received a degree. Callo has been the owner of two Postal Annex stores for the past five years. He is the father of three, including current Torero sopho– more catcher, Shaunna.
