❱❱ Courtroom legend Lynne R. Lasry passed away in the company of her family on December 29, 2025, at age 70. Not only a distinguished trial attorney, educator and mentor, she was also a mother to two and the beloved wife of USD Professor of Law Emeritus Allen Snyder. bono representation. In the years following graduation, she practiced at Hillyer and Irwin; the U.S. Attorney’s Office; and Procopio, Corey, Hargreaves and Savitch, where she developed strong, lasting friend ships among the legal
community and earned a reputation for her professionalism and integrity before cofound ing Sandler, Lasry, Laube, Byer and Valdez. Lasry was a champion for many, particularly clients in the mental health system and young professionals lacking mentors in the legal field. She taught lawyering skills and advanced trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at USD Law, where she created meaningful connec tions with her students who stayed in touch with her throughout their careers. She served on the USD Law Alumni Board for several years and was its president in 2014-2015. For her commitment to the community and the School of Law, she was honored with the 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award. Lasry’s impact will continue to shape USD Law’s values of excellence and inspire the legal profession for years to come.
