TIM ANTONGIOVANNI - Running Backs Coach/1st Year Tim begins his first season with the Toreros where he will coach the running backs. Tim is no stranger to USD football where he played for four seasons ( 1992-95) as a wide receiver and running back . A 1996 USD graduate, Tim earned hi s degree in Psychology. The past two seasons he taught Hi story at Frazier Mountain High School in Lebec, Californi a; and hi s coaching duties there included head varsity baseball coach and offensive line/defensive line coach fo r football. During the 1996-97 season he was freshman running back coach and head junior varsity baseball coach at Garces Memorial High Schoo l, hi s alma mater, in Bakersfi eld, Californi a.
JASON DesJARLAIS - Defensive Line Coach/1st Year Jason begins hi s first season with the Toreros where he will coach the defensive line. Prior to USD he was defensive line coach for three seasons; the last two at Humboldt State, and at Western Montana College in 1996. A two-time All-America defensive lineman at Western Montana Co ll ege, Jason helped lead hi s team to three Frontier Conference Champi onships. In 1994 and 1995, Western Montana Coll ege was the NAIA national runner-up. From Ronan, Montana, Jason prepped at Ronan High School where he was a three-sport letterman. After graduating from Western Montana in 1997 with a B.A. in Education, Jason went on to earn his Master of Science degree from Humboldt State in 1999.
SHAYNE GANZ - Tight Ends & Special Teams /1st Year Shayne begins hi s first season with the Toreros where he will coach the tight ends and spec ial teams, and ass ist Coach Quick with the offensive line. His broad coachi ng background incl udes stin ts at Orange Coast Coll ege ('96-98; Secondary/Special Teams), Pasadena City Coll ege ( 1995; Secondary) , and Orange Hi gh School ( 199 1-94; Def. Coordinator, Receivers and Ru nning Backs). A nati ve Californi an, Shayne graduated from the Uni versity of Phoeni x (Business) and went on to earn hi s Master's in Educati on/Phys ica l Educati on from Azusa Pac ific University. He played two years of football at Cypress College in 1976-77. From 1979 th rough 1996 he was a professional baseball umpi re, call ing games at all collegiate levels, as well as games for the minor leagues between 1988-89. Shayne currentl y teaches P.E. at Point Loma Nazarene Un iversity. Hi s wife Susan is PLNU's head athl etic trainer and a professor in their Sports Med icine/Physical Education Department.
KENNY STILLS - Inverts Coach/1st Year Kenny begins hi s first season with the Toreros where he wi ll coach the inverts on defense. He comes to USD from Menlo College where he was secondary coach the past two seasons. From Oceanside, he prepped at El Camino HS ( 1977-8 1); pl ayed two years at El Camino Co ll ege ( 198 1- 83); and fini shed hi s coll eg iate career at Wisconsi n ( 1983-85) where he was a All -Big Ten perfo rmer. He was an 8th round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers in 1985, and pl ayed in their organi zation until 1990. He pl ayed his last two seasons in the NFL with Minnesota ( 1990-9 1). After retiring in '9 1, he spent three years with the Mil waukee Mustangs of the Arena League where he was assistant GM and handl ed color commentary for the games. Kenny and Annette res ide in Oceanside with their son, Ken Jr. (7).
ROBERT CHATHAM - Secondary Coach/1st Year Rob begins hi s first season with the Toreros where he wi ll ass ist head coach Kevin McGarry with the secondary. From nearby La Mesa, Rob is a 1992 graduate of Heli x High School where he pl ayed both offensive line and linebacker on the football team. Whil e attending Califo rni a Lutheran ( 1992-96) in Thousand Oaks, Rob pl ayed fo r the Kingsmen football team (offensive line/special teams) between 1992 and 1994. He graduated in 1996 with a double major (Marketing/Political Science), and just recentl y earned hi s law degree from Boston Uni versi ty. Outs ide of football he is a USA Hockey certified ice hockey official.
