Throughout the school year, USD has under- gone many changes and addi t ions to its programs, buildings, and admi ni stration . I am proud that I was able to help document the transformation that is tak- ing place on campus in the 2007-2008 yearbook. Al - though I was unsure about what I was getting myself into at fi rst, I'm glad that I got involved. Through my experience on the yearbook staff, I had the opportu- nity to meet three of the most hard-worki ng, yet easy- going people at USD. Willie Blackmon, Onar Primiti vo, and Alex Good have been incredible in helping to shape the yearbook into its current state and create a comfortable and supportive yearbook staff environ- ment. Willie and Onar have always been there for Alex and me whenever we had questions or raised concerns. They were able to handl e every situation that was thrown at them, no matter how hectic their own schedules were. My experience with the USD yearbook would not h! ! ! ave been the same without them. Likewi se, Alex's presence on the staff was an important one. I would not have wanted to st ruggl e through the start-up of the yearbook with anyone else. Her organization and level-headedness provided a perfect counterpart to my fleeting quirkiness, impul- sive act ions, and inexperience with yearbook design. Without her, the yearbook would not be near as fun to work on and would certainly be less efficient. In ad- dition to these staff members, I'd also like to thank all of the clubs, organizations, and individual s who have cooperated with us in our efforts to create a memory book that is inclusive and representative of the ent ire USD community. I wish the best to the future of the USD Alcala Yearbook and everyone involved in its creation. I hope that this year's 2007-2008 yearbook has effectively captured and documented the most memorable events of the 2007-2008 year and will cater to retaining lasting memories for many years to come. - Mariko Lamb

Being Yearbook Editor this past year was an amazing opportunity. After hearing about the posi- tion being available from my leadership advisor, I immediately thought I wasn't a candidate because I was a freshman. But I still app lied becau se I had experience from high schoo l and middle school as Yearbook Editor and yearbook is a true passion of mine. When I found out I had been given the posi- tion, I was ecstatic because it meant that I would be able to continue doing something that I love. Switching to this new level did require me to make some few adjustments to my traditional yearbook ideas. It was a great learning experience. Working with Mariko was great. She was always willing to help and learn with me. I couldn't have asked for a better Assistant Editor. Wi ll ie and Onar were amazing advisors. They were always patient with me and Mariko and open-minded to our ideas. I would like to thank several people for help- ing me this past year. Thank you to Paige Haber, Mariko Lamb, Willie Blackmon, Onar Primitive, and my friends for telling me to take on this endeavor. Paige, thank you for bringing me the information to apply for this position and encouraging me to apply for it. Mariko, thanks for also being there for the is- sues and creative bra instorming. I'm going to miss you next year. Willie and Onar, thanks for being so lenient with deadlines and understanding. And to my friends, thanks for telling me to go through with this because it's something I was missing in my life. Thank you Mommy for your support! I'm looking forward to next year!
Sincerely, Alexandra Good
