Michael Kearney, di- rector of trusts and estates, has been named acting vice president for university rela- tions, according to Presi- dent Author E. Hughes. Kearney fills the vacancy created when Dr. William L. Pickett accepted the presidency of St. John Fisher College in Rochester, N.Y. A nationwide search is under way to find a perma- nent replacement for Dr. Pickett. ••••• Dr. Joan Anderson, as- sociate professor of eco- nomics, received a Fulbright Scholarship to attend a six- week summer seminar in South America. The grant will help her develop a course on Latin American business for USD's year-old master's degree program in international business. Dr. Thomas Kanne- man has been appointed di- rec tor of USD's new electrical engineering pro- gram which will be inaugu- rated fall semester. Dr. Kanneman formerly was professor of electronics and computer engineering tech- nology at Arizona State Uni- versity. *****
