CLASS OF 1975: A LEGACY FORGED BY PURPOSE, PERSEVERANCE,

AND GENEROSITY The members of the USD School of Law Class of 1975 arrived on campus shaped by history long before they ever opened a casebook. They were raised by families who survived the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and two World Wars as children of the Greatest Generation. They came from households built by immigrants and military veterans, farmers and teachers, doctors and lawyers, and everyday American heroes whose quiet sacrifices laid the foundation for opportunity. From an early age,

they learned resilience, responsibility, and the importance of contributing to something larger than themselves. Thriving Through Uncertainty When they entered law school, the world around them was anything but stable. The Vietnam War was drawing to a close. The Watergate hearings unfolded daily, shaking the nation’s confidence in political leadership and the systems of government themselves. For many, it was a time of profound questioning about institutions,
