With their vision and steady encouragement, they have inspired fellow alumni, colleagues, and friends of the law school to join in supporting the effort. Dennis, Karen, and Denise are eager to say, “join me” in designing a law school that will serve and educate this generation of legal professionals as well as generations to come. Hewitt’s philanthropic support underscores her belief in the power of education to strengthen the legal community and the San Diego region. Her personal generosity sets a powerful example, affirming that an investment in the School of Law is an investment in integrity, innovation, and the rule of law itself. “Karen’s leadership and dedication to this campaign embody the very best of our alumni community,” said Dean Robert Schapiro. “She is helping us build not only a stronger law school, but also a stronger foundation for the future of legal education.”
