HIGH SCHOOL Enjoyed an outstanding prep career at Punahou School in Honolulu.. All-State performer as a junior, helping the Buff and Blue win one of three consecutive Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) Champion- ship titles (2003, 2004 & 2005)... Starting forward on Punahou's 26-0 2003 State Championship team... Won a pair state championship titles (2003 & 2005) with the Buff and Blue, earning Hawaii's Defensive Player of the Year award in 2005... Punahou finished third at the state tourna– ment in 2004... Received AII-ILH honors in three straight seasons .. . Also played for the Kalakaua Club team, coached by Dennis Agena ... Helped Kalakaua win an 'And 1' tournament championship in Las Vegas, where she was voted an all-tournament player. OFF THE COURT Born Christine Takara (TALK-CAR-a) on March 21 , 1987 in Honolulu as the daughter of John and Liane Takara .. . Chose to attend USO for the strong academics, the location, and the basketball program .. Her community service experience includes working with HUGS (respite care for children), while also spending two years volunteering with her church nursery. Named the Sunset Conference MVP, helping Bishop Gorman High School win the league championship and post an overall record of 29-2 as a senior... McDonalds All-America nominee after averaging a double-double per game in 2004-05 (11 points/12 rebounds), while shooting 52% from the field ... Earned all-state honors as both a junior and senior, leading the Gaels past Centennial in Regional Champion– ship play in 2005... All-Sunset Conference player as a sophomore, junior and senior, as the Gaels compiled an 84-9 record during that span- reaching the state finals three straight years....
