ACADEMIC SUPPORT CENTER

TheUSDAthleticAcademic Sup– port Program is designed to promote the academic development ofstudent-athletes. The primaryobjectiveis to offer the neces– sary resources for the academic success of student-athletes as they work to earn their degree. Academic Support Services are designed to enhance the student-athlete's overall collegiate experience and encour– age development and attainment of aca– demic and career goals. All USD student-athletes have access toadvising, tutoringand mentoring services. Thementoring program,Access, was developed in1999 and teams a gradu– atestudentin theCounselingprogramwith an athletewhowould like toenhancestudy skills, learn about campus resources and receiveguidance ongoal development and attainment. Student-athletes also have ac– cess to a quiet areawhere they canstudy or work in the computer center. In addition, student~athletes are encouraged.to utilize the campus learning centers including the Writing,Math andLogicCenters aswell as to takeadvantageofthe resources available to them in the Career Center, Counseling Center and Computer Labs.
