Brian Fogarty Dir. ofDevelopment Student Affairs & Athle tics Brian Fogarty enters his eighth year in USD athletics administration, and his first in his new role of Director of Development for Student Affairs & Athletics. The past seven years he was Associate Director of Athletics for Development. He took over this post after

Aclclitionally, Yourg is the Athletic Department contact for NCAA directed annual aud its, and coordinates the USD Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) report. He has volunteered himself in the San Diego community serving as Chairman of The Board of Directors for Wayback, Inc. , of San Diego, a recovery home for alcoholic men. Yourg received his Bachelor's (Sociology, 1980) and \1aster's (Social Work, 1986) degrees from the University of Wisconsin, where he was a nose guard on the Badgers' footba ll team. He played four years and was a letter-winner. Dan and his wife Virginia, a USD alumnus, are the parents of three sons, John, Thomas and Michael. r=====~ John Martin Associate Director ofAthletics Facilities & Operations John Martin has been a member of epartment. As volleyball coach, he directed USD to three postseason appearances, including a 4th place finish at the 1976 AIAW Nationals. As Associate AD for Facilities & Operations, Martin oversees all the scheduling, field maintenance and purchasing. He was the department's key liason during the construction of the Jenny Craig Pavilion which opened in October, 2000. A graduate of San Diego State CB.A. & M.A. in History), John resides in Encinitas with his wife Jane. They have two children: Eliza , a 2001 graduate of USD, and son, Patrick, a junior at USD. This past yearJohn was recognized as one of two Student Affairs Employees of the Year. Carolyn Greer, A.T., C. Head Athletic Trainer Carolyn Greer enters her twenty– sixth year as the Head Certified Athletic Trainer for the University of San Diego athletic department. She is assisted by Suzi Higgins and Paul Signorelli. A 1975 graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education, Carolyn went on to earn her Master's in Sports Medicine in 1978. Over the years she has taught classes in Sports Medicine and had numerous articles published in a variety of journals. She oversees sixteen intercollegiate teams and approximately 390 USD student-athletes on a yearly basis. The Sports Medicine staff provides injury prevention, immediate care, and rehabilitation for USD's intercollegiate athletes. Carolyn, and her husband Jeff, reside in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego with their two boys, David and Jason. the USD athletic staff since 1975. He was the school's first head women's volleyball coach, a post he held through the 1989 season, and also oversaw the Recreation

spending thirteen years as USD 's head football coach. He directed USD's football program to eleven seasons of .500 or better records and guided their move from the Division III ranks to the NCAA I-AA level in 1993. This past year he was named USD's "Administrator of the Year." His primary responsibilities are with fund raising, overseeing the Torero Athletic Association (TAA), and marketing and promotions for the athletic department. He oversaw the capital campaign for the Jenny Craig Pavilion, which opened its doors in October of 2000. Brian, who resides in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego, has four children: Bridget (a USD graduate), Joe, Colleen (a senior at USD), and Megan . MikeMatoso sociate Athletics Director for Compliance and Administration this past Fall, is in his fourth season as USD's Compliance Coordinator, and .________,. fifth year with the USD staff. Four seasons ago he was the department's Academic Sup– port Coordinator. Prior to USD, he spent three years as the Academic Coun– selor at USC where he was involved with the footba ll baseball women's soccer, swimming and volleyball programs. Pri~r to use: Mike served as the Academic Advisor for all 18 intercollegiate pro– grams for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for two years. He earned both his B.S. degree in Physical Education 0993) and M.A. in Education, Counseling 0994) from Cal Poly. He was also a starting pitcher for the Mustangs baseball team that fin ished 2 nd in the Division II Col– lege World Series. Mike and his wife, Kelly, reside in Carlsbad with their two children, Abigail and their newborn son, Cole. In 1981 Ted received his Masters of Science degree in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. A 1979 graduate of SanJose State University, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. In addition to his SID duties Ted is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA); a member of USD's Athletic Hall of Fame Committee· and teaches a bowling class through the USD recreation departme~t. Ted and his wife Terri, a 1983 USD graduate, reside in Poway with their four daughters: Katie 06), Colleen 04), Claire 01) and Erin (7).
