2000-01: Fortney put up career-high numbers in most categories . .. She started in 17 of 26 games as a junior. .. Averaged 6.5 points per game, including scoring a career– high 16 points against Boise State ( 1-05-0 I) .. . Scored in double figures on seven different occasions .. . Shot 70.3% from the free-throw line (26-37 for the season) .. . Fortney connected on 22 three-point shots, shooting 33 .3% from three-point range .. . Had four steals in two games in 2000-0 I, the last coming against Ca l State Fullerton (1-3-01). 1999-00: Named Most Improved Player for the Toreros... Shot 33.3% from the three– point line, connecting on 13 during the year.. . Averaged 4.9 ppg and 2.4 rpg whi le appearing in 28 games... Recorded a career-high 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and one steal vs. Fresno State.. . In that game she was 6-of-8 from the fi eld (.750) .. . Fortney also tal lied 5 points and 2 rebounds playing Notre Dame in NCAA Tourna– ment first round action. 1998-99: Appeared in 24 games as a freshman... Hit 15-21 free-throws on the sea– son . .. Turned in personal bests of 4 points against Pacific and 4 rebounds against Portland .. . Prep: Named first team All-CIF and All-Palomar League for the second consecutive year as a senior at Rancho Bernardo High School. .. Female Ath lete of the Year at RBHS ... Won back-to-back CIF championsh ips in sophomore and junior campaigns... Also played volleyball for the Broncos, winning league honorable mention as a senior.
