THE UNIVERSITY OF SAN DIEGO
The University The University of San Diego is an independent Catholic institution of higher education. Founded in 1949, USD is located on 180 acres
overlookingMission Bay, San Diego Harbor and the Pacific Ocean . The campus, named Alcala Park, is located l O minutes from downtown San Diego. Academics USD enrolls more than 6,200 students who have a choice of more than 50 un– dergraduate and graduate degree pro– grams. The University includes the Col– lege of Arts and Sciences, and the Schools of Business Administration, Education, Law and Nursing. Class size generally averages between l 0-30 stu– dents with the student to teacher ratio being 18: 1. Over 96 percent of USD's full-time faculty hold doctorates . The Campus The USD campus is one of the most architecturally unique institutions found in the country, featuring 18 major buildings designed in an or– namental 16th century Spanish Re– naissance style. In the last decade USD has com– pleted eight major construction and expansion projects. In 1990, the reno– vated Katherine M. and George M. Pardee Jr. Legal Research Center opened, a facility double the size of the former law library that offers the latest in information technology.
Student Life
Student activities include cultural events, dances , boat cruises, beach parties, BBQ's, concerts, comedy nights, sym– posia and much more . Stu– dents participate in a wide range of volunteer projects such as adult literacy tutoring, senior citizen outreach and house building in Tijuana. Over two-thirds of the USD community partakes in intra– mural sports .
Athletics
San Diego is a member of the West Coast Conference and competes in 16 intercollegiate sports on the NCAA Division I level. Women's sports include : softball, basketball, crew, cross country, soccer, swimming, tennis and volleyball. Men's sports include : baseball, basketball, crew, cross country, golf, foot– ball, soccer and tennis. In the past three seasons alone, five USD teams have advanced to NCAA tournaments .

I.IN ADAMS, Head Coach Lin Adams begins her second season at USO after being named head coach on Aug . 25, 1993. Last year, Adams led " USO to its fifth consecu- tive 25-win season . Adams ' coaching career spans all three NCAA Divisions (I, II , 111) . Adams, with a career record of 131 - 100 - l , previously spent two seasons at Chico State, where she earned 1990 Coach of the Year honors in the North– e rn Californi a Athletic Conference. She inh e rited a n 8 -48 Wild ca ts team and generated 19 victorie s th e fol low- ing season . Adams ' ties to San Diego include DANIEi.i.£ GOODI.ETT Danielle Goodlett enters her second season as assistant coach at USO . She pre vi o usly served as Adams' top as si stant at Chico Sta te and UCSD . Goodl ett was a four -year starter at thi rd base for UCSD (1984- 88) a nd earned a Math – ematics degree in 1989. She is currently working to – wards her teaching credential and helps direct the USO Softball sum– mer camps.

The San Antonio, Texas native obtained her bachelor's (1980) and master's degrees from Chico State. She also holds a doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Texas.

soft ball coach for two seasons at Concordia College, located in Toowoomba, Australia . Natalier received a bachelor' s in Education from Queensland University and taught high school in Australia for eight years . She has resided in the U.S. for the past three years .
