A Message From President Lyons The University of San Di ego is very proud of the student-athletesthat represent our institution on 16 men's and women'sNCAADivision-I athletic teams. These are proud and serious competitors, honored to represent the Univer– sity. The dedication you witness on the playing fields, on the court, on the course, or in the water is greatly matched in the classrooms, the laboratories, on stage, or in the community. More than a third ofour student-athletes carrya grade-point average above 3.2, and 11 ofour teams have a cumulative grade-point average above 3 .0. Athletics is vital to theUniversity ofSan Diego, a way students, faculty, staff and alumni come together as one community. I am both a university president and a Torero fan; I look forward to sharing the excitement of Torero athletics with our many fans.
