THE USD PARENT CORPS is no stranger to hard work. With gardening clippers, paint brushes and beaming smiles in tow, the group, accom- panied by students and staff, rolled up their sleeves and got to work on their annual home improvement service project last February. According to Parent Board Co-President Jim Trumbull, this daylong volunteer effort, in partnership with the organization Rebuilding Together is, a labor of love. “Sitting in boardrooms trying to figure out ways to make a difference is, well, boring,” he says. “This project immediately benefits the home owner, and our group takes a lot of pride in that.”
