His wife, Sheila, and he have lived in Hemet, Calif. , since 1999. They currently are building a summer home in Ocean Shores, Wash. Brenda (Bartek) Gomez retired from Oregon Stace University in Corvallis, Ore. She spends time volunteering and visiting family and friends throughout the United States with her husband. He is an expert in African American Catholic history, cacechesis and evangelizacion.
