2000-2001 USD Men's Golf Facilities

DEL MAR COUNTRY CLUB "Home of the Toreros" The lush, Joe Lee-designed Del Mar Country Club, located in Rancho Santa Fe, is one of Southern California's finest. It is the USD Toreros home course throughout the season. The 6,950 yard course winds through the natural terrain of its canyon and valley locale. A stream winds its way through the course and its fairways are bent grass. Rating/Slope: 74.4/133.

The University ofSau Diego golf team is very fortunate to have several fine golf courses available for play and practice throughout the school yea,: Riverwalk Golf Club Located in Mission Valley about six blocks from the USD campus. the completely redesigned Ri,crwalk. site of the former Stardust Country Club. has undulating fainvays. well placed lal-.es. waterfalls and v.ell protected bentgrass greens. Designer Ted Robinson provided a challenging 27 holes of go lf in the heart of the city. Yardage: 6.383 to 6.627. Rating/Slope: 70.5 to 71.6/120 to 123. Shadowridge Country Club The David Rainville designed 6.85-t yard course is located in the gentle hills of Vista. San Diego Maga1ine has called Shadowridge one of the best courses in San Diego County. Rating/Slope: 73.1/ I 2-t. The Meadows Del Mar Golf Club A meandering 6.885-yard Tom Fazio-designed course. which plays to a par 71. takes you along hillsides and meadows and gracefu ll y through ravines. Dramatic scenery and remarkable design. coupled with views that just don't stop. Rating/Slope: 73.5/13-t. Steele Canyon Golf Club A Gary Player signature 27 hole layout in a quiet country setting. Each of the three nine's arc different. The Canyon 9 oilers dramatic elevation changes. while the Ranch 9 borders a working cattle ranch. and the Meadow 9 follow s riparian streams and \,\Oodlands as it surrounds lu xury estate home sites. Yardage 6.622 yards to 6.9-t2 yards. Rating: 72.2 to 7-t.0. Four Seasons Resort - Aviara The challenging 7.007-yard layout winds through rolling ,·alleys and overlooks the Batiquitos Lagoon wildlife prescn c. Both Go! f Digest and Golf Magazine have named the Arnold Palmer designed Aviara as one of the best new resort courses in the country. Rating/Slope: 7-t.9/1-t I. Rancho Bernardo Inn, West Course Designed by William Bell. with meandering streams that come into play on ten holes. Rating/S lope: 70.6/122. Encinitas Ranch Golf Course A few miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. but with ocean views from nearly every hole. Rating/S lope : 72.2/ 127. Twin Oaks Golf Course A Ted Robinson design that is demanding but fair. Three signature water holes surrounding a protected wildlil'c habitat. Rating/Slope: 7 1.21124. Temecula Creek Inn Nestled in the heart of the Southern California wine country. north of San Diego. A challenging 27 holes of championship go lf. Rating/ Slope: From 71.8/ 123 to 72.6/130. Oaks North Golf Club A 27-hole Ted Robin son executive layout. Excellent to de ve lop a short game. Rating/S lope: 55.8/86 to 56.8/88.
