Notable: JT has played a key role in USD's success the past three seasons with the Toreros going a combined 31 - 4 with back-to-back Mid-Major National Championships (2005 & 2006) and three PFL titles... A versatile player, he is a four– way threat as a rusher, receiver, kick re– turner and occasional passer... He enters the 2008 campaign as the program's all-time leader in rushing yards (2,967), touchdowns (46) and all-purpose yard– age (5,233). USD: JT returns for his fifth and final year with the Toreros where he will once again be the starting running back... He has been selected one of four 2008 team captains by his teammates... Last season
he earned First Team FCS All-America honors from The Sports Network after leading the nation in kickoff returns (33.2 ave.)... He also led the team in rushing (1 ,021 yards and 10TDs) while chipping in with 30 recep– tions for 331 yards and 7 TDs... He tallied a team-best 108 points... He rushed for more than 100 yards in six games with a best of 154 at Morehead State...He found the endzone four times in home win over Jackson– ville... He returned a 94-yard kickoff for a touchdown against Northern Colorado...Was named a PFL Player of the Week on three different occasions... In 2006 he was tabbed FirstTeam AII-PFL with solid numbers across the board... Named USD Offensive Player of the Year... In the rushing department he led the team with 190 carries for 1,002 yards and 14 touchdowns...He ranked fourth on the team in receptions with 28 catches for 313 yards and two scores... He returned 12 kickoffs for 347 yards (28.9 ave.), including a 93 yard return for a touchdown against Valparaiso... He was a perfect 2-for-2 in the passing department with both tosses going for scores {42 & 25 yards)... He totaled four games with 100+ rushing yards led by 173 at Drake and 151 at Davidson...He also tallied five games with 2 rushing scores.In 2005 he led the Toreros with 944 yards on the ground and 7 rushing touchdowns... He totaled 36 receptions for 320 yards and 4 scores... Tallied 5 games with 100 or more yards of rushing, including 180 yards and 3 TDs in win at Dayton (named PFL Offensive Player of the Week for his effort)... Added 176 yards on the ground and 9 receptions for 92 yards in key PFL win over Drake...Tied for 2nd on the team in points with 66...Sat out the 2004 season as a redshirt. High School: Led Coronado to a 9-2 record and earned All-State honors with over 1,700 yards rushing his senior year... Rushed for over 1,000 yards and named All-League for the 2002 Harbor League Champions... Was his team's leading tackler, rusher and receiver his sophomore season...Also a two-time All-League base– ball player. Personal: Born on June 13, 1986 in La Jolla, CA... Also recruited by Penn, Dartmouth and Redlands... Chose USD to get a good education while staying close to home... Notes that his uncle, Sam Rogan, was a Califor– nia drug-free powerlifting champion ... Little League teammate of current Torero Joe Staab... Favorite sports teams include San Diego Padres,Chargers and Utah Jazz.

USD: John enters his fifth and final year at USD at wide receiver... He was se– lected one of four 2008 team captains by his teammates... Last year he set a new USD single season record with 16 TD receptions... He caught 47 balls for 1,088 yards (23.1 ave.) with a long of 80 yards (Marist)... He closed out the 2007 campaign with 9 catches for 217 yards and 2 TDs at UC Davis... Season-best 11 catches (ties USD mark) and 4 TD recep– tions (2nd all-time at USD) for 190 yards against Davidson... Named honorable mention on the Sports Network FCS All– America Squad,and Second Team on the Mid-Major team... AII-PFL Second Team
and First Team PFL All-Academic... In 2006 he was selected a 2nd Team Mid-Major All-American (Football Gazette)... He caught 32 balls for 649 yards (20.3 ave.) and 7 touchdowns... Hauled in 2 touchdowns (72 & 42 yards) in win over Morehead State... Also caught 2 TDs in win over Dayton, and caught 4 balls for 126 yards and 1TD vs. UC Davis... In 2005 he caught 14 balls for 400 yards and 6 touchdowns... His 28.6 yards per catch average led the team... He also averaged a team-best 25.6 yards on 13 kickoff returns ... Earned PFL honor- able mention honors as a return specialist... In PFL Championship victory over Morehead State hauled in 2 touchdown receptions (39 & 30 yards)... Also had TD receptions against Southern Oregon, Princeton, Butler and Dayton... In 2004 he sat out as a redshirt.
High School: Prepped at Regis Jesuit High School where he was an All-State performer with 67 catches for 1,188 yards his senior season...Also lettered in track and field,qualifying for state in the 4x200 relay.
Personal: Born on July 19, 1986 in Aurora, Colorado...Also recruited by Yale, Dartmouth and Air Force... Chose USD for the great football program and academic environment.
