USD:John Matthews enters his fourth year at USD, and third year competing on the field as a wide receiver. .. Last year was selected a 2nd Team Mid-Major All-American (Football Gazette) ... Last season he appeared in all 12 games and totaled 20 receptions for 196 yards (9.8 ave.) and 2 touchdowns ... Season– best 5 receptions at Davidson (1 TD), and 70 yards receiving vs. Azusa Pacific... Also pulled in a TD at UC Davis ... In 2005 he appeared in a reserve role... Hauled in 2 passes with a long of 49 yards in home win over Chapman... He sat out the 2004 season as a red-shirt.
