7 MIKE RISH Senior Offensive Asst./Receivers Mike Rish is beginning his 22nd season on the Torero staff. He returns as the Senior Offensive Assistant where he oversees the receivers, something he has done for twenty of the past twenty-one Torero seasons. Mike played for USD from 1979-83 where he posted career numbers that make him one of the best receivers ever to play at USD -- he ranks third all-time with 101 receptions, 18 receiving touchdowns and 1,722 receiving yards. He held the school marks in all three career receiving departments from 1983 through 1997. He was passed up by two Torero receivers he has coached - Dylan Ching in 1999, and most recently by Adam Hannula last season. In 1983 he was selected the team's scholar-athlete by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. In the Toreros' nationally-televised game between Occidental in 1982, Rish was named the CBS Chevrolet Player of the Game. Mike graduated from USD with an Accounting degree in 1984. He is the Vice President for Secondary Marketing for Guild Mortgage Company in San Diego. JIMMIE DOUGHERTY Tight Ends Jimmie Dougherty enters his second year at USD as an assistant coach. This season he moves to the position of tight ends coach after coaching the receivers in 2004. He came to USD from Illinois Wesleyan University where he was the secondary coach since 2002. Dur– ing his time in Bloomington, Illinois he assisted the team with defensive game plan preparation, offensive scout team, scouting, recruiting and off-season conditioning. For two summers (2002-2003) he also worked summer camps at the University of Illinois with the quarterback camp. Dougherty was a three-year letterman in football at the University of Missouri (1999-2001). He started during his sophomore season throwing for 1,430 yards and 7 touchdowns. He suffered a career ending injury in

2000. He was recruited out of Edwardsville High School in Edwardsville, Illinois where he was a three-sport letterman in football, basketball and baseball. He was named an All-State quarterback by Chicago Sun Times and Champaign News Gazette. He played for his father, Tim Dougherty, with team being the 2001 and 2002 Illinois Class 7-A State Runner-up. JOHN MORTON Passing Game Coordinator & Wide Receivers

John Morton is in his first year with the Toreros where he will be the Passing Game Coordinator and wide receivers coach. He comes to USD from the NFL's Oakland Raiders where last season was his 7' h year and first as tight ends coach. During the 2002 & 2003 campaigns he was senior offensive assistant. The 35-year-old Morton spent the 1997 season working in the Oakland Raiders player personnel department after having played for the World League's Frankfurt Galaxy during the spring of 1997. He originally signed with the Raiders as an undrafted rookie free agent in 1993 and spent part of the '93 and '94 seasons on the Silver and Black practice squad. Morton also spent time with the Green Bay Packers in 1993. Morton was in training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1995 and with the Raiders in 1996. He also played for the Canadian Football League's Toronto franchise in both 1995 and '96.

Morton played collegiately at Western Michigan after transferring from Grand Rapids Community College. Despite playing only two seasons at Western Michigan, Morton finished his college career ranked 10th on the school 's all-time receiving list with 78 catches. He also placed eighth in receiving yards (1,278) and was an all-conference receiver as a senior. The Pontiac, Michigan native was an all-league receiver at Avondale High in Auburn Hills, Michigan as a senior. His wife 's name is Shannon and they have one daughter, Tierney Rose. KADE RANNINGS Defensive Assistant

Kade Rannings is in his first year with the Toreros where he will be defensive assistant for the Torero coaching staff. Rannings comes to USD from Oregon State University where this past spring he was a gradu– ate assistant with the Beavers. During the 2004 & 2003 seasons he was a student assistant at OSU and assisted with the wide receivers. During the 2001 and 2002 campaigns with Oregon State, Kade was a volunteer and assisted with the efforts of the recruiting coordinator. A 2005 graduate of Oregon State University, this past spring Kade earned his B.S. degree in Physical Education (Sports Science). From Albany, Oregon, Kade competed 3 years on varsity high school football at running back. He is single and resides in San Diego.
