Associate Director of Athletics Dan Yourg has been a member of the USO Athletics Department since the fall of 1985. Yourg oversees football , baseball, men's bas– ketball, golf, men's soccer, and men's and women ' s tennis. Yourg serves as the NCAA compliance coordinator for the entire USO athletic program. In
Brian Fogarty enters his third year as USD' s Associate Director ofAthletics for Athletic Develop– ment. He took over this post after spending thirteen years as USD's head football coach. He directed USD's football program to eleven seasons of .500 or better records and guided their move from the Division Jll ranks to the NCAA I-AA level in 1993. Hi s primary responsibilities are with fund raising, and marketing and promotions for the athletic department. Brian and his wife Vicki, who reside in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego, have four ch ildren: Bridget (a senior at USO), Joe, Colleen and Megan.
addition, he is the department liaison to USD's Financial Aid Office. Yourg received hi s Bachelor's (Sociology, 1980) and Master's (Social Work, 1986) degrees from the University ofWisconsin, where he was a nose guard on the Badgers' football team. Dan and his wife Virginia, a USO alumnus, are the parents of two sons, John and Thomas.

Renee Wiebe Assistant Director ofAthletics for Marketing and Promotions Renee Wiebe is in her second year as Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing and Promotions. Her previous experience in athletics was at the Uni– versity of Northern Iowa where she was Marketing and Promotions Director from 1993-95. Prior to that she was Promotions Assistant at the University of

1.:=:...;..;..;;;;;;;;;;;;,,,1 member of the cross country and track team. Upon graduation she worked as an admissions counselor and Assistant Director of Admissions at Whittier. She earned her Master' s in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Administration at Springfield College in Massa– chusetts while working a fellowship for two years. After Springfield she held the position of Assistant Director of Athletics at St. Francis College in Pennsylvania for one year. In 1995 she interned with the U.S. Olympic Festival. Carolyn Greer Head Athletic Trainer Carolyn Greer enters her twenty-first year as the Head Certified Ath letic Trainer for the University of San Diego athletic department. A 1975 graduate of San Diego State University Over the years she has taught classes in Sports Medicine and had numerous articles published in a variety of journals. She oversees sixteen intercollegiate teams and approximately 350 USO student-athletes on a yearly basis. The Sports Medicine staff provides injury prevention, immediate care, and rehabilitation for USD's intercollegiate athletes. Carolyn, and her husband Jeff, reside in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego with their two boys, David and Jason. with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education, Carolyn went on to earn her Master's in Sports Medi– L:;...;.:;:;;;;:;..;..;;;;;,,a cine in 1978.

She earned her Bachelor of Journalism-Broadcast Sequence from the University of Mi ssouri-Columbia in May, 1991 . She went on to earn her Masters of Education with an emphasis in Sports Administration from Wichita State University in August, 1993.
Steve Brown Strength & Conditioning Coach
Steve is in hi s fourth year as the USO Strength and Conditioning Coach. He came to San Diego from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was the Assistant Strength and Condition– ing Coach since 199 1. This past spring he was named the 1998 National Strength and Conditioning Asso– ciation Professional of the Year for the WCC. A 1983 graduate of Brown University (Biology), Steve was a two– sport letterman in footba ll (defensive back) and track (long jumper). He earned his Master's degree in HuP1an Kinetics in 1991 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. From 1983-90 he was an assistant footba ll coach at Wauwatosa East High School in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and assisted in track in 1988. He is currently working on his Ph.Din Physical Education (focus of studies in Exercise Physiology).

Ted Gosen Sports Information Director
Ted Gosen is in his 17th year serving as USO' s Director of Sports Information. He handles publicity and publications for all USO Athletics teams, in addi– tion to hosting media at USO events. He is assisted by

Ryan McCrary. ._iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii____ In 1981 Ted received his Master's of Science degree in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. A 1979 graduate of San Jose State University, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. In addition to his SID duties, Ted is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA); assists the USO Hall of Fame Committee; and teaches a bowling class through the recreation department. Ted and his wife Terri, a 1983 USO graduate, reside in Poway with their four daughters: Katie, Colleen, Claire and Erin.
-------- Peer Health Counselor for two years. After earning her M.A. in Sport Psychology at San Diego State University in 1993, she accepted a position as the Academic Counselor for the EOP program. Her research interests are in motivation , self-esteem, and exercise and has published several articles in her field.
