Brian Fogarty Associate Director of Athletics for Athletic Development

Assistant Athletics Director Dan Yourg has been a member of the USD Athletics Department since the fall of 1985.

Brian Fogarty enters his first yearas USD's Associate Director of Athletics for Athletic Development. He takes over this new post after spending the pastthirteen years as USO' s head football coach. He directed USD•s foot– ball program to eleven seasons of .500 or better records and guided their move from the NCAA Division III ranks to the NCAA I-AA level in 1993. His primary responsibilities will be with fund raising, and marketing and promotions for the athletic department. Brian and his wife Vicki, who reside in the Scripps Ranch area ofSan Diego, have four children: Bridget (ajuniorat USD), Joe,Colleen and Megan. Kim has been the Coordinator of Athletic Academic Support at USD since January 1993. She previously worked at San Diego State University in the Office of Student Athlete Academic Support Services, while earning her Master of Arts degree in Education (em– phasis in counseling). Kim also completed her undergraduate work at San Diego State University in Recreation Administration (concentration in Sys– tems Management). A native Californian, Kim resides in El Cajon. Steve Brown Strength & Conditioning Coach Steve begins his second year as the Uni– versity of San Diego Strength and Condition– ing Coach. He comes to San Diego from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsyl– vania, where he was the Assistant Strength - ~- and Conditioning Coach since 1991. A I983 graduateofBrownUniversity (Biology), Steve was a two-sport letterman in football (defensive back) and track (Jong jumper). He earned his Master's degree in Human Kinetics in 1991 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. From 1983-90 he was an assistant football coach atWauwatosa East High School inWauwatosa, Wisconsin, and assisted in track in 1988. He is currently working on his Ph.Din Physical Education (focus of studies in Exercise Physiol– ogy). UNIVERSITY OF SAN DIEGO ~OREROS Kim Nowak Academic Support Coordinator

Yourg oversees football, baseball, men' s basketball, golf, men's soccer, and men' s and women's tennis. Yourg serves as the NCAA compliance coordinator for the entire USD athletic program. In addition, he is the department liaison to the University's Financial Aid and Housing Offices. Yourg received his Bachelor's (Sociology, 1980) andMaster' s (Social Work, 1986) degrees from the University ofWisconsin, where he was a nose guard on the Badgers' football team. Dan and his wife Virginia, a USD alumnus, are the parents of two sons, John and Thomas.

Ted Gosen Director of Sports Information Ted Gosen is in his 15th year serving as USD's Director of Sports Information. His responsibilities include publicity ofall 16USD men' s and women's sports, through press releases, publications and game day programs. He also is in charge of gathering game and cumulative statistics, and hosting media at all USD home athletic functions. He is assisted

by Mike Daniels, who is in his second year.

In 1981 Ted received his Master's of Science degree in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University inMiami, Florida. A 1979 graduate ofSan Jose State University, he earned his BachelorofScience degree in Business Administration. In addition to his SID duties, Ted is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA); is amemberofthe USDHall ofFameCommittee; is the editor of Torero Sportsline; and teaches a bowling class each semester through the USD recreation department. Ted and his wife Terri, a 1983 USD graduate, reside in Poway with their four daughters: Katie, Colleen, Claire and Erin.

Carolyn Greer, M.A., A.T.C. Head Athletic Trainer CarolynGreer enters her nineteenth year as the Head Trainer for the University of San Diego athletic department.

A 1975 graduateofSanDiegoStateUniver– sity with a Bachelor ofArts degree in Physical Education, Carolyn went on to earn her Master's degree in Sports Medicine at the same institution in 1978. Over the years she has taught classes in Sports Medicine and had numerous articles published in a variety ofjournals. She oversees sixteen intercollegiate teams and approximately 350 USD student– athletes on a yearly basis. The Sports Medicine staff provides injury prevention, immediate care, and rehabilitation for USD' s intercollegiate athletes. Carolyn and her husband Jeffreside in theMission Beach area of San Diego with their two boys, David and Jason.
