Customer Count by City. The number of unique customers per POI varies across San Diego County. Cities such as La Jolla, Oceanside, and Encinitas show higher median counts and high variance. This can imply a higher tourism-driven interaction where POIs attract larger and differing sets of customers. We can also infer that the outlier POIs, as denoted by points outside the interquartile range may act as tourism hubs or destination POIs. These high outlier count cities could act as bridges between nodes in downstream graph analysis. See Figure 3 for customer count distributions. Spend Distribution by City. La Jolla and Carlsbad show higher variability in spend distribution across POIs. This indicates a more diverse retail ecosystem as POI types and shopping experiences between locations in these areas vary. Conversely, cities like Chula Vista and Vista show smaller interquartile ranges, suggesting more uniform POI behavior and possibly more homogeneous retail environments with consistent spend between locations. See Figure 4 for spend distributions.
