Bishop-elect Hunt has the dis- tinction of being the first priest of the Diocese of Salt Lake to be raised to the ranks of theHier- archy. Monsignor Hunt is nationally known for his series of eloquent radio addresses over station KSL in Salt Lake, in which, during sev- eral seasons he has delivered pop- ular talks on "Catholic Doctrine and Practices," which have re- sulted in many conversions. In recognition of his outstanding abilities as a radio speaker, Msgr. Hunt has twice been invited to deliver "The Catholic Hour" se- ries over the nation-wide hoolr p. Author of Marriage Gu! The pamphlet was printed by The I Monitor Publishing Company of San Francisco in December, 1936. \The booklet bears the Imprimatur of His Excel.lency Most Rev-erend John J. Mitty, Archbishop of San Francisco. The former Vicar General of , Salt Lake, Monsignor Hunt was born in Reynolds, Nebraska, on September 19, 1884. He is the son of A. D. and Dema Garrison Hunt. His father is still a resident in Iowa state. Monsignor Hunt was educated in the local schools of the city of his birth and graduated from Cor- nell College, Mt. Vernon, Ia., in 11907. It was during his senior I year at the college that he became interested in the Catholic religion, he having been reared as a Meth- odist. He took post-graduate work in law at the University of Iowa and later at the University of Chicago.
