Association of Chicana Activist The Association of Chicana Activists strives to empower women and our community by providing encouragement of self•determination through higher educat,on, awareness and hermandad (sisterhood). AChA pndes itself 1n maintaining the four pillars of their organization : social. education. political. and cultural. Socially the members of AChA encourage their

members to act as a support group for one another, a familia (family) . As an organization. AChA works in promollng higher education and the recruitment and retention of Latinas on campus. Politically, the organization works to shed light on issues that affect them and the community. Finally, AChA works in celebrating and educating their members and community of !heir Latin cultural values and practices Iha! make their heritage so rich .
