In 1995, AChA and MEChA organized together to plan an individual graduation ceremony that would celebrate the accomplishments of their fellow members. The tradition has been passed down to MEChA and AChA and it is the members ' passion and hard work that makes this celebration possible. The 14th annual Chicana/a Latina/a Graduate Recognition Ceremony was held on May 23rd, 2009 in the UC Main Dining area. The ceremony brought together students, parents, faculty and staff, and larger San Diego community for a culturally relevant and intimate celebration.
