1872, Alpha Phi was founded at Syracuse University "to uphold the highest ideals of womanhood, scholarship, and service, and per– petuate the spirit of sisterly love and kindness." The Eta RhoChapterwas founded at USO in 1989 to strive to uphold these goals and high ideals of womanhood. In the five years since its founding, Alpha Phi has continued to grow and prosper. Social involvements for the sorority included Fraternity Exchanges at USO and other universities, Bor– deaux Ball, Fall Formal, and Date Parties. Sisterhood events like Founder's Day and the Chapter Re– treat rounded out the year. Finally, Alpha Phi showed their philan– thropic activities by organizing the 4th Annual Alpha Phi Open Golf Tournament to raise money to ben– efitCardiac Aide and orphaned chil– dren
