USDCrew Pain, Determination, Success. Rowing crew is the fine art of balance - the blending of the physical and the mental. The body inherently must be in peak con– dition in a sport where seconds separate the elite from the rest. The balance is be– tween strength and condition. The two are forever linked and cannot be separated for a crew to succeed. Although strength and condition are essential, they are useless without the spirit to drive them. In a sport where pain domi– nates, only those rowers who can drive themselves into that realm and move past it, will succeed. And only those crews who, together, move through the threshhold will win. Because only when a crew makes a conscious decision to take the step beyond, will they come together in perfect harmony. Only then will they row as one. And as one, they become a part of something greater than themselves - a union forever shared by those willing to endure. This is where our crew exists. This is where our crew succeeds. This is what it means to be USO Crew.
