USD Soccer It's kickin'

Under the leadership of new coach Tony da Luz, USD's women's soccer team pushed through another suc– cessful season. Playing in the NCAA Division I, they beat such high-rank– ing teams as SDSU, and came close with Santa Clara and University of Washington. Part of this year's success can be attributed to the added weight train– ing the women were put through, as well as the talents within the young team. Captain Karmyn Clark led the team with her astounding abilities as a sweeper, supported by other superb player such as co-captain Kristi Calhoon. Coach da Luz plans to improve his young team's performance next sea– son by improving their offense as well as expanding the size of the team.
