sible for seven of the mens and womens teams, as well as the coordinator of the NCAA com– pliance, budgeting, recruiting, and more. Regina is responsible for nine mens and womens teams, alcohol and drug educa– tion and research projects,to name a few. "They are simply the backbone of the department." The future of athletics at USD looks promising. Though sports is growing, it will never take priority. After all, the motto will always remain as academics be– fore athletics.
In the past few years, USD has produced five All-Americans and have done competitively well in the West Coast Confer– ence (WCC). Who is responsible for this? Just look for the Direc– tor of Athletics, Tom Iannacone. In his fifth year at USD, he has made improvements in person– nel, programs, budget, facilities, fundraising, and promotions and marketing.
