Football Toreros finish 7-0 against California Division III
T he Toreros' playoff dreams were shattered due to losses to three NCAA Division II teems, Cal Lutheran, Cal State Hayward, and Azusa Pacific. A major key to this year's success was the offensive running backs. Fresh– man Willie Branch rushed for more than 100 yards in 5 differ– ent games, with his season high of 209 in the game against La– Verne. USO junior RB Scott Sporrer had a personal best of 178 yards against Redlands.
Junior quarterback Michael Bennett finished strong and completed 54 of 100 passes for 919 yards and 9 touchdowns. Daniel Branch put the pressure on Pomona defensively, preventing points from being scored.
