SPANISH CLUB The Spanish Club was not only socially active but academically as well. The club planned numerous trips to Mexico including an En– senada Weekend. They also cele– brated holidays and cultural events. Aside from all the social aspects, the Spanish Club pro– vided a tutoring service to Spanish students. Dr. Cynthia Schmidt, advisor, stated, "The tutoring ser– vice gave those involved an under– standing of the Spanish culture and language. " GERMAN CLUB · 'The Oennan Club offers to the students and faculty who have an interest in language and culture, the opportunity to meet together to discuss historical and current events," stated president Jim Trauscht. This main idea was what attracted many students to this or– ganization. The club planned a wide variety of activities this year. The group held a reunification party to cele– brate Germany's new democracy, an Oktoberfest Dinner, and an ex– cursion to Alpine Village. FRENCH CLUB " This year we are trying to bring new, creative and exciting activi– ties to the club - contests, cineclub - and to keep our members in– fonned of all the French events taking place in San Diego," stated the advisor of the French Club, Dr. Michelle Magnln. The club was a great opportuni– ty for any student who wanted to broaden his or her knowledge of France, its culture and its lan– guage.
