i• mai *» For the first time in the three years since moving up to Division Ithe USDwomen's swim team hadmembers who had a shot at making Division I standards. Areas of strength included the 50/100 yard freestyle,100 yard butterfly,100/200 yard backstroke,and the freestyle relays. Last year's team was bolstered by the addition of three fast swimmers. These included HeatherHockerr,Shelly Otto,and Nicole Halfenger. In addition to these three a young crop ofseven freshmen with plenty of room for im­ provement added to theteam's depth. Head swim coach was Gary Becker.
