Facilities USD's 180-acre campus is located atop a mesa overlooking San Diego's Mission Bay, just off of Interstates 5 and 8 . The campus includes 60 buildings designed in 16th century Spanish-style architecture. The upper campus includes all of the University's administrative and classroom facilities. Located at the east end of campus are the Mission housing complex; graduate student apartments; and the Sports Center. containing an Olympic-size swimming pool, gymnasium, stadium, tennis courts. weightlifting area and playing fields. Recently constructed facilities include Olin Hall (1984). home to the School of Business Administration, the Douglas F. Manchester Executive Conference Center (1984) and the Helen K. and James S. Copley Library (1984). Currently under construction is the University Center, a 74 ,500-square-foot facility which will house dining, meeting and office areas. The center will open in 1986. Construction recently began on a 154-unit student apartment complex near the Sports Center.
